Govt is set to import a single spot LNG cargo from Vitol Asia for delivery to the Moheshkhali FSRU on November 12-13. Vitol’s bid of $17.55 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) was the lowest in Bangladesh’s latest spot tender. This import will be the tenth spot LNG cargo for Bangladesh in the current fiscal year, and the deal is awaiting approval by the cabinet committee on government purchases. Bangladesh imported a total of 12 spot LNG cargoes between February and June, after resuming spot LNG imports. In November, the country plans to import three LNG cargoes from Qatargas and one from OQ Trading. The purchases will come from both long-term and spot suppliers.
