The World Food Programme (WFP) has provided cash assistance to 30,000 families at risk of Cyclone Remal across Khulna and Barishal Division. Through bKash, each family received Tk5,000 to prepare for and recover from the impending storm. This assistance, part of WFP’s Anticipatory Action programme, enabled families to procure essential items like food and medicine. With support from Germany, WFP activated this support based on forecasts, demonstrating the effectiveness of early action in saving lives.
