The Foreign Direct Investment Promotion Project (FDIPP), overseen by Bangladesh Bank (BB) and funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), has disbursed over Tk 3.64 billion in loans to 19 eligible end borrowers. The project aims to boost economic development in Bangladesh by encouraging private sector investment from Japan. This information was shared during a dissemination seminar held by the FDIPP implementation unit at the CIRDAP auditorium in the city. The Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance serves as the executing agency, while Bangladesh Bank manages the Two Step Loan (TSL) component of the FDIPP. The project, operational from February 2016 to March 2025, underscores efforts to promote foreign direct investment and foster economic growth through strategic partnerships with international organizations like JICA.
